Hello all,

I am seeking insurance coverage now that my employer's insurance is expiring (and COBRA is too expensive). Any recommendations on affordable health insurance despite having a pre-existing RSI condition? Thanks for your input.

yes COBRA is expensive, but it's still cheaper than privately buying insurance in most cases. Also, you won't have to deal with any "pre-existing condition" clauses that signing up for new insurance will require.

One option is you find a man or woman and get married (domestic partnerships count toward spousal insurance in California). I almost did, but then I found another job.

When I was shopping for insurance, I found that after adding up the monthly costs and deductibles, it would actually be cheaper to treat my RSI by paying out of pocket. By "treat" I mean some occasional bodywork and painkillers.

Good luck. I know not having insurance is a scary thing.
